Community Economic Development
While keeping in mind the unique circumstances of the local area, Community Futures Development Corporations promote Community Economic Development as a community driven process where people plan and act for their future.
CFDCs strive to:
- Establish a realistic vision and positive outlook
- Identify local issues and strategies to deal with them
- Motivate and involve others in the community by working in partnership and cooperation
- Recognize volunteers and their importance to the community
CFDCs work with a variety of partners from the public and private sectors on projects or special initiatives in areas such as tourism, entrepreneurship, economic diversification, and community adjustment.
